Val Regan’s Music Library

“Words make you think a thought. Music makes you feel a feeling. A song makes you feel a thought.” Yip Harburg.
This great quotation from the writer of Somewhere Over the Rainbow is what inspires Val’s song choices. Her arrangements are all a cappella and she loves to draw out the essence of a song, so that it really connects with singers and listeners. An arrangement that works, whether it’s simple or challenging, should serve both the singers and the song and that’s her aim.
As for her own musical journey, Val grew up playing classical violin, found her way into folk fiddle and now plays lead guitar in a rockabilly band (what mid-life crisis?) and Latin percussion in a 12 piece dance band, all of which goes into the musical melting pot and finds its way into her arrangements.
