Up On The Roof – Learning Tracks
View Val Regan's Full StoreIn 2019 I was lucky enough to stand in the Brill Building in New York, home to some of the best songwriters of the sixties including Carole King, James Taylor, Neil Sedaka, Mann and Weil. They toiled away in their little studios and would take a break by heading up to the roof. That’s what inspired this song by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. This arrangement has a lead part in the alto range, which could be a soloist or a small group. The rest of the choir gets to dust off their sha la las and plan their choreography.
