When I was in London many years ago I was in an indy pop skiffle (piffle) band called Fat and Frantic. We shaved the top 100 a couple of times but didn’t quite make the big time – however we had a lot of fun and one important part of our setup was the artist Charlie Mackesy who designed all our artwork and album covers, and I always loved what he did. If you haven’t yet seen his work I would check out his website because there are pages of artwork in all sorts of genres that you will hopefully find interesting and beautiful. He is now best known as the writer of the Best Selling “The Boy, The Mole, the Fox, and the Horse” which has been a real source of solace and wisdom for many, especially in this recent difficult time of isolation.
While reading the book some of the lines gave me ideas for lyrics and I found myself humming this tune around the house. The words speak for themselves, and hopefully the a capella style will lend itself to singing together as we emerge from this crazy mixed up situation.
