Summertime (TTBB) – Learning Tracks

I love George Gershwin’s music! In this arrangement I’ve shared the tune between the two bass parts. The harmony is luscious, with expressive word-painting: “the cotton is high”, “fish are jumpin’”, “spread your wings” and “take the skies”. This song requires good listening to achieve fine tuning, particularly the opening bars of each verse where soprano 2 has the chromatic intervals.
