I wrote this to commemorate the Christmas Truce of 1918 & therefore it starts with a single voice in German & swiftly grows to all voices singing in English, French & German simultaneously. Although it’s in 8 parts & having strong Bass/Tenor sections is highly desirable, the notes are generally easy to find.
There is a 6/8 cross rhythm that runs through verses 2 & 3 (moving between the parts). It should be precise, but not accented. The 6/8 over 3/4 makes it tricky to conduct at times. I suggest that you focus on whichever part has the 6/8, as the 3/4 will look after itself. Finally, this carol is often prone to pitch loss. The slippage usually starts with the melody itself, I reckon.
