Stardust – Learning TracksView Keely Hodgson's Full Store
This is an arrangement of an original song that sprang from a collaboration with Andrew Burgess who used sing in MOSS, the male vocal ensemble I lead. Andrew writes in his spare time, and I suggested that he could write some lyrics for me. His beautiful words literally sang themselves to me! Originally written for male voices, I have arranged this version also for female voices with piano accompaniment. It is a wistful yet hopeful song and always reminds me of evenings of singing and warm camaraderie. The song starts with a unison verse and refrain. The harmony builds in the following two verses and voices and piano reach a shining climax in the final refrain: “When all is rusted twilight, and the darkness at its height, remember: we are made of stardust, we are made of light.”
If you don’t have a pianist to hand, a high-quality backing track is available for download below.
