A beautiful arrangement of this Old Basque tune arranged in a very English choral style. John Battley was a long standing member of the Tenor Section of the renowned Lea Singers in Hertfordshire, and arranged many songs for the choir in his time. We will be featuring his effective and delicate arrangements more in the future.
He specialises in realising the text very carefully, so there is a slightly different harmony to the second half of verses 3 and 4, which colour the lyrics wonderfully. Allow plenty of rehearsal time to learn these subtle changes – they make all the difference!
