Simple_Man_Full_Score - SECURE
Simple Man appeared on Graham Nash’s debut solo album ‘Songs For Beginners’ released in 1971. Following its simple opening lyric ‘I am a simple man, so I sing a simple song’, the song quickly transforms into one of love & yearning.
The melody in the verse is passed around the parts and the chorus melody and phrasing has that characteristic folk rock 70s sound, which can be sung with some twang by the baritones & tenors, whilst the basses sing strong grounding root notes.
The arrangement is in 3 parts, but has a split in the chorus to add additional harmony.
