Silent Night – Learning Tracks

The timeless classic from 1818, originally accompanied by guitar because the organ in the Austrian village of Oberndorf was out of service that year.  Normally performed in A this version is for piano in the lovely key of Bb, with a few minor changes to the original harmony.  If you don’t have a pianist who can play from chord symbols we have provided you with a simple piano backing track.

If you only have a guitarist, they can either play from the A version with Capo on fret 1, or simply play the whole thing in A.  Try and sing verse 3 really quietly, it’s always a magical moment.
