Say Say Yes is a resistance song that resists the temptation to ‘otherize’ folks. It’s about moving forward, shoulder to shoulder, leaving nobody behind and holding each other up. It should be sung with vibrant energy and fierce joy. It has some rhythmically challenging spots that can be assisted by crisp diction. It helps to move as much as you comfortably can, put the rhythm in your body and speak the lyrics in time.
