Come and find new repertoire for your choir – experience it from the inside by singing new songs, led by the arrangers who arranged them!
ChoirCommunity are excited to bring together several of our arranging team to lead our first ever Repertoire Days, where you can try out new repertoire for your choir.
In order to provide this to as many of our members as possible, we are running two events; the first is a physical event in the centre of the UK and the second is a virtual event on Zoom to be run over multiple time zones.
For both days, we’ll have a wide variety of music and styles, all arranged for SATB – some a capella, some accompanied, all ready for you to use with your choir.
First Event – Face-to-face Repertoire Day in Nottingham, Saturday 20th August
The venue for our first event is right in the centre of England – Nottingham, a city with great transport links and a proud tradition of singing. We’ll be at Bluecoat Wollaton Academy (Click here to see the location on Google Maps), overlooking the majestic Wollaton Hall and Park. This is easily accessible from the M1 (15 mins from Jct 26 or Jct 25, 20 mins from Jct 24 and East Midlands Airport), and a brief taxi journey (12 mins) from Nottingham Railway Station. There is plenty of free parking on-site.
During the session, you’ll have access to sheet music for every song we’re covering, and you’ll sing through everything alongside other choir leaders. You’ll be conducted by the arranger who wrote the song you’re singing, and they’ll be able to share their insights into the song and how to get the best out of it with your choir. You’ll have the chance to ask questions of the arrangers, as well as to network with other choir leaders. It should be a really inspirational day!
The session will run from 1pm to 4pm (with a break), with registration any time from 12:30pm. We’re recommending that people bring their own refreshments.
You’ll be sampling arrangements by the likes of Abi Moore, Fiona Lander, Timothy Allen and Wendy Sergeant. With a wide variety of musical styles and difficulty levels, you’re sure to find something that you’ll want to add to your choir’s repertoire.
Second Event – Virtual Repertoire Day on Zoom – Wednesday 7th September
For those of you unable to make it to Nottingham in August, we will be running two sessions of this event on Zoom to cover as many time zones as possible – at 8am and 8pm UK time on 7th September. The sessions will be planned to run for two hours and will be led by Craig McLeish, the co-founder of ChoirCommunity who will present a selection of his arrangements available on the site. As well as providing the opportunity to sing through the music together, Craig will provide insights into each piece and answer any questions about the best way to rehearse them and get the best out of your choir. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network with other choir leaders from around the world.
BY BUYING A TICKET TO EITHER EVENT, YOU’LL ALSO GET A DISCOUNT CODE OF THE SAME VALUE, SO YOU CAN PUT THE MONEY YOU’VE SPENT TOWARDS PURCHASING ARRANGEMENTS FROM CHOIRCOMMUNITY AFTERWARDS.
We hope you’ll be able to join us for one or both of these events and look forward to seeing you there!
