This song is full of nostalgia for the Christmases of our childhood, whenever that was. I’ve aimed to make the lyrics as universal as possible, whilst mentioning some specifics that might trigger memories – maybe not memories of exactly the same thing, but close enough to work for many people. The overall message is one of looking back on Christmases past with fondness, but there’s also a suggestion that we should make new Christmas memories for us to look back on in the future.

Musically, it’s fairly straightforward, except for the unusual key changes in the bridge! These might take a little getting used to initially, but they’ll soon become second nature.

The song works well with piano accompaniment, or with the backing track that we’ve made available below (piano, bass, drums – and sleigh bells for that Christmas feel!).  Whichever voicing you choose, the download will include the appropriate ensemble recording, as well as separate audio learning tracks for each part.
