Important! The Bass part here is often very low. (Lots of low E’s). For this reason, this is the only one of my CBS transcriptions that I would hesitate to recommend as suitable for all choirs.

It’s a thrilling & powerful arrangement, pulsing & broody, but in addition to the bass part being low, the harmonies are so sparse that it needs the bass presence to be big in order to achieve the dark & compulsive drive of the original recording.

If your Tenors can cope with moving it up (original key goes up to high F#), then you could ask a few Baritones to volunteer to join the Basses, but if you push higher than the written key most tenors will have to go into falsetto, & to my mind this tune is best with a good solid chest voice on all 3 parts.

Of course, if you sing in a small group that uses microphones then it’s not a problem.

Great song, great arrangement, but not for everyone!
