Lo How A Rose – Learning Tracks

SATB Version
A beautiful old 15th century tune which seems to have become more popular in the US than the UK for some reason. Watch for the syncopation in lines 2 and 4 and at the end – the soprano (holds onto the -der of tender for an extra beat). Often catches the unwary but this simple counterpoint is one of the reasons why this is so great to sing. Another translation of this text was used by Herbert Howells for his classic “A Spotless Rose”.
New for 2019, we have created an SATB version for those who can stretch to 4 parts!
