It’s Easy Sometimes – Resource Pack
View Natural Voice Network's Full StoreIt’s Easy Sometimes was written about the up and down impact that racism and the different levels of coping can happen when navigating my way through life. It’s a reflection on the different types of conversations and expectations that are a part of life when you live in a society whose forefathers were responsible for colonisation. The legacy of perception of black is still very prevalent and this is my response to that. I wanted to write something that had a humanitarian slant so that everyone who sang it could relate to it in some way but the motivation was my own experience as a black woman and the challenges that I face.
In the verses all of the parts that are not the melody need to be thought of as a small string ensemble delicately interweaving and never too prominent. They just give a flavour while the words are the really important story. The choruses are to be sung robustly and with vigour. The middle 8 section is reflective and like liquid so more legato than any other section of the song.
This resource pack contains the full score and scored parts for both SATB and SSAA voicings of the song and full audio learning tracks for each part, as well as the ensemble recordings which you can preview above. This resource pack is licenced on a ‘per copy’ basis, where a copy should be purchased for each member of your choir. For larger choirs, an unlimited licence is also available from the button below.
