In My Life (TBB) – Learning Tracks

According to John Lennon, “In My Life” was his “first..major piece of work” because it was the first time he wrote lyrics about his own life. The song is nostalgic, poignant and should be sung sensitively.

In this 3 part male voice arrangement, the baritones have the melody whilst the tenors provide an upper harmony. The form is simplified from the original Lennon & McCartney version, with a short 8 bar interlude that follows the song’s distinctive chord pattern and separates the verses.
