Grace Kelly – Learning Tracks

View Wendy Sergeant's Full Store

This was a big hit in the noughties – I loved it. I arranged it as the first song to teach our new pop/rock choir, Vibe, in 2017, which was a bit ambitious! It has a strong rock rhythm throughout, started off by the basses and this needs to be kept anchored all the way through the song. The tenors lead in the verses and need to enunciate the (crazy) words clearly and the basses have to keep the rhythm going without getting too loud. The “Hmmm” after “so I try a little Freddie” is meant to sound like Mika sings it – an impersonation of Freddie Mercury. The rest is self-explanatory. Suitable for SATB choir .. with a sense of humour!
