God Only Knows – Sheet Music

A modern pop classic yet with proper counterpoint! Everyone gets a go at the melody at some point in this strangely written yet much loved song. I have stuck fairly close to the format of the original Beach Boys version, so maybe familiarise yourself with that and then the leaping backwards and forwards through the sections will make more sense.

There is no real obvious ending so we have demoed a live ‘fade’ – often goes down well at concerts!

A good pianist should be able to play a decent part using a combination of the chords and the written passages.
