Fields of Gold – Learning Tracks (Wendy Sergeant)

Sting was inspired to write this lovely song by watching the wind blow through the fields of barley around his home in Wiltshire. Encourage the choir to tell the story throughout and to sing through the phrases without breathing in the middle – “you’ll remember me.. when the west wind moves..” with a little swell on “me”. The basses should sing the middle section with sensitivity and the ‘ahhs’ from the other parts should be gentle.
