Caravan Of Love – Learning Tracks

Definitely in the list of classic a capella pop songs, this was written and released by the Isley brothers and Chris Jasper and reached No. 1 in the U.S. in 1985.  A year later came the Housemartins version which did the same in the UK – the second ever a capella single to reach the top spot (The first being “Only You” by the Flying Pickets.)

The arrangement is fairly true to the original, keeping the sparse accompaniment which is nice and easy to pick up.  Good knowledge of Paul Heaton’s vocal inflections would inform your Sopranos of the sort of delivery which will keep this from feeling too straight. Not all his flick and ticks can be notated!

Its basically 4 part with extra sop and bass lines on the chorus and those alternative tenor and Alto lines during the fade at the end.
