Bring Me Little Water Sylvie – Sheet Music

A wonderful spiritual made popular by Leadbelly, Woody Guthrie and many others, although I think their versions are often much more up tempo.  There should ideally be a loose feel to the arrangement. Don’t by any means feel bound by what we have done, although the building blocks for a decent version are all there for you to use how you like.

This version uses a Cantor in the useful role of indicating what verse to sing next.  Listen to the full mp3 as a guide.  You can repeat verses, and there are others which have been used if you do a search online you will find them.  At the end I have found it very effective to simply hum the chorus, and if you can do this with your eyes shut, it’s very moving indeed.
