Autumn Leaves – Backing Track
View Craig McLeish's Full StoreAutumn Leaves has become one of my community Choir’s most popular songs – perhaps because we don’t do many jazz standards, but also I think the wistful lines are quite evocative and help with marking the passing of another year.
It starts with a basic unison verse then reiterates with harmony parts. The second half of this is the trickiest passage – Sopranos split and there are some
fairly advanced chromatic lines here – worth spending time on perhaps? This version requires either a live jazz pianist playing from chords or you could use our backing track. Not for beginners, but not too hard either, and makes a lovely concert piece.
