A brand new setting of the well-known hymn, composed in January 2020 for award-winning Newcastle based chamber choir ‘Voices of Hope’ as a thank-you for their support and inspiration to me this last few years.
The opening verse could be presented with soprano and alto soloists, but this is not essential. The new melody is sung by different combinations of voices within the choir, supported by a flowing and accessible piano accompaniment. There are subtle hints of the original tune woven into the texture before it is presented a Cappella in all it’s glory!
