Bumper Crop of New Arrangements!

September 26, 2018 - By

We’ve obtained quite a pile of new arrangements this week, covering a broad range of styles and voices.  I hope you find something new to try!

First up, we have another new arranger who has joined the team – Alison Crutchley has created music for many different types of choir from barbershop groups to workplace choirs, specialising in pop and rock tunes.  We hope to showcase some of these very soon, but for now we have two classic Christmas Carols written for upper voices; The Coventry Carol and In The Bleak Midwinter.

Craig has created two more beautiful Christmas Carols this week too, both of which are a bit different from the norm; What Child Is This uses a traditional folk tune with different words to create a carol, Sing Lullaby is a gorgeous recreation of an old Basque tune, adapted from an arrangement by John Battley.  We will be showcasing many more of John’s beautful and subtle arrangements in the future, but for now, this joins my favourite – Eriskay Love Lilt on the site.

We also have two more Young Voices pieces on the site this week.  A Gospel Christmas is a lively medley of seasonal favourites and Angels We Have Heard on High gets a more jazzy treatment.  While all the Young Voices arrangements are written with school choirs in mind, they are equally suitable for leisure-time and community choirs looking for something a bit more simple and easy to learn and have been very popular.

Finally, we have three more challenging arrangements all taken from the American Songbook.   Cheek to Cheek is a close harmony a capella version of the Irving Berlin classic.  We also have two Cole Porter songs from Richard Salt in Anything Goes and I Get A Kick Out Of You.

These are the first titles we have published without learning tracks as we believe choirs interested in taking these on will probably be able to learn from the score.   However, if the demand for adding learning tracks is high enough, we will certainly create them – please let us know!

  • When do we see TTBB arrangements?

  • Hi Bob,
We’re still working on it! It’s been a longer process that we expected to find what we were looking for but we are in the process of talking to a couple of arrangers who have some great TTBB and similar in their portfolio. We don’t want to compromise on quality so we’ll put titles up there as soon as we’re happy with them. It’s definitely a question of when and not if in any case 🙂
