60 Seconds of Sound – Terms and Conditions
- The promoter is: Web Community Group Limited (company no. 10640945) whose registered office is at 1 Wilsbury Grange, Hartford, Cheshire, CW8 1QQ.
- The competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or over except employees of Web Community Group Limited and their close relatives, any of the arrangers who submit music to the ChoirCommunity website and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition, although to be accepted, an entry must be a recording of a piece of music available to purchase on the website choircommunity.net (see section 9 – rules below.)
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

- A maximum of three entries will be allowed per choir, but each entry must be of a different arrangement. Once three entries have been accepted, any further submissions will not be accepted.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
- Select a favourite passage of music from an arrangement available at https://www.choircommunity.net.
- Make a video of your choir singing the passage.
- The passage must be no more than 60 seconds. Anything over 60 seconds will not be accepted!
- Email the video to [email protected] with a few details of the choir, location and why you enjoy the piece.
- Feel free to post the video on social media – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok or YouTube with the hashtag #60SecondsOfSound.
- All accepted entries will be posted where possible to the ChoirCommunity YouTube channel.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The prizes are as follows:
1st Prize – Craig or Gitika (the choice to be left to the winner) will write a bespoke arrangement for your choir which you will have exclusive use of for 12 months, after which it will be made available on the website, plus 10,000 bonus reward points (worth £50)
2nd Prize – 10000 bonus reward points (worth £50)
3rd Prize – 5000 bonus reward points (worth £25)
3 more runners-up will receive 2000 bonus reward points - The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- Winners will be chosen by Piers and Craig McLeish and Gitika Partington and announced in May 2023
- The winner will also be notified by email within 14 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 30 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- The promoter will contact the winner to discuss the most appropriate arrangement based on what can be cleared from a publishing perspective. Copyrighted material is unlikely to be acceptable, but an original musical setting to a poem or other form of words in the public domain would likely be better.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
- The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and the name of their choir and images of their choir in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
